Alexmonhart x KVIFF
Created to mark the 60th edition of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, THE CINEPHILE is a limited-edition fragrance developed in collaboration between ALEXMONHART and KVIFF. The project brings together the worlds of perfumery, design, and cinema, paying tribute to a place where film, culture, and people from around the world have come together for decades.
THE CINEPHILE expands The Lexicon of Eternity with a new archetype — someone who sees film as a cultural value and the cinema as a space where stories take on their true meaning. Rather than capturing a single moment of the festival, the fragrance evokes the atmosphere that has become inseparable from Karlovy Vary.
THE CINEPHILE
The composition brings together fresh citrus notes, ginger, pepper, and litsea cubeba with a heart of plum, clove, Bulgarian rose, and lavender. A base of green leather accord, patchouli, amber, and violet leaf gives the fragrance depth, elegance, and a subtle sense of nostalgia.
The bottle design draws on ALEXMONHART’s visual language, developed over the years by PERMANENT OFFICE. For this limited edition, it was adapted in collaboration with Studio Najbrt to reflect the visual identity of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
THE CINEPHILE will be available exclusively in a 20 ml format in Karlovy Vary during the festival, at the official festival shop and selected partner lounges (by invitation only), priced at CZK 1,790.
PERFUMER
The fragrance was created by Michael Ælfrić Nordstrand, an independent perfumer, educator, and founder of Mythologist. A graduate of Givaudan, ISIPCA, and The Grasse Institute of Perfumery, he has collaborated throughout his career with brands and institutions including Tom Ford, Jo Malone, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Getty Museum.
His work has been recognised with the British Society of Perfumers Award in 2024 and an Art and Olfaction Award in 2025. In creating THE CINEPHILE, Nordstrand drew inspiration from the atmosphere of Karlovy Vary, its history, and its spa heritage. The result is a fragrance that brings together the character of the city with the legacy of one of Central Europe’s most significant film festivals.
